I finally got my Valentine's Day Tags done. As you can see, there are slight variations with the embellies, but it is the same design. Feel free to message me if you have any quesitons.

Manly Valentine's Day Card...um, yeah?

For some reason that I forget now, I decided to make a 'manly' Valentine's Day card. This card is 4 5.8 by 6 so it will fit an invitation size envelope. I cut the card base out of black card stock at 6 by 9.25 and scored it in half. I then cut the red mat at 4 3/8 by 5.75. The next layer is two strips of black card stock at 1.25 by 5.5 that I ran through the Cuttlebug with the Diamond Plate folder. The small red mat is 3 by 5.75 and the black mat on that is 2.75 by5 to leave room for the sentiment, which is a rub on from my stash. I think I got it at Hobby Lobby last year. The same thing goes for the glitter heart foam sticker thingies. I just peeled and stuck them on. Easy peasy...and I think it is a good 'guys' card. You know I always have trouble with cards for men. I also put a red mat on the inside of the card so I can write something in it later. Thanks for looking! I promise to put up my Valentine's Day Tags tomorrow....they are drying now....

Paul in Brown

Okay, back to the 'guy' card. I used Paul from the Greeting Farm. His skin is E 00, 21 and 51.His hair is E31, 33, 35, and 37. His shoes and shirt (peeking out) are E 35. Yep, all Es. I used a piece of patterned papper by Recollections for his clothes. I made this a size A2 card out of Kraft card stock and cut it so it opens from top to bottom, not side to side. I used dark brown card stock for the largest mat at 4 by 5.25 and the pattern paper mat is from K&Co. and is cut at 3.75 by 5. I also used my corner rounder to round opposing corners for a different look. Then I took dark brown and dark cream cardstock to make the stripe going across the patterened paper. I used some dark brown ribbon on it as well to add some detail. You know I had to embellish it somehow but no flowers on a 'guy' card! So, I used buttons, LOL. I pulled the colors from the K&Co. paper to tie it all together. The sentiment is from Tim Holtz's Purely Random stamp set. I know it looks like I had trouble stamping it (fuzzy) but that is how the stamp is. Or, how mine is at least. I stamped it multiple times and that is as clear as it got. I hope you like it. So, I put on Facebook that I was going to make a "guy" card but I got side tracked! That's nothing new! I saw something on Pintrest I just had to try. You use Versamark to stamp a flourish (or whatever) and use that as your guide for Liquid Pearls. So, here is my first attempt. It is going to take a little practice but I am excited to use this technique!

Miko's Pink Birthday

I am using Miko in pink to do my Valentine's Day tags for my swap (which is still sitting on my desk, argh!) but I wanted to use her for a birthday card as well. I started with a 5 by 6.5 pre-made card and used the pink and green floral paper as my largest mat cutting it down by .5 inch. The I cut down the green and pink designer paper from The Paper Studio birthday paper pack I've been using lately by an inch each. I used two stickers from the paper pack for the floral border going behind her and for the sentiment. Miko's skin is E00, 31 and 33, her clothes and hair accessories are R20 and 22. Okay, now if I can just get back to those Valentine's Day tags...sheesh...

Maria in Purple

Happy Hump Day! Today I made this cute card featuring Maria from the Greeting Farm. I started with a 5 by 6.5 pre-made card and cut the light purple card stock .5 inch shy to create the largest mat. Then I stamped the butterflies from Stampin' Up!'s Sprinkles stamp set in Lavender Lace to create my own patterned paper. I cut the medium purple card stock to 3.5 by 4.5 and used the scalloped Friskar punch that has been laying on my craft desk forever and a day to do the edge. Then I took the dark purple card stock and cut the smallest mat at 2.5 by 3.5. I realized I had just enough left over to mimic the scalloped edge so I added a little detail by layering it. I fussy cut Maria out and adhered her straight down to the dark purple mat. I used a Martha Stewart butterfly punch on the light purple card stock to tie the colors together. I also used some bling from my stash to dress up the butterfly and the right flower in her hair. I used Copics to color her and her skin is E00, 31 and 33 and her clothes are BV00, 02 and 04. Tim Holtz Card

I think this has got to be one of the simplest cards I have ever made. I started with a 5 by 6.5 pre-made card and cut some Kraft card stock .5 inch shy of that the create the mat. Then I used Momento Tuxedo black ink to stamp five different stamps from the Tim Holtz Nature's Elements stamp set. That is it. Viola! Done. I may revisit this technique later with some embossing powder and see how it turns out. Whatcha think?

Annabelle's Card

Yesterday was my little cousin's very first birthday party. Her birthday is actually the 17th but with that falling on a Tuesday, the party was on Sunday. I asked her grandpa what a good gift would be and he said that her mommy and daddy had just opened a savings account for her so I made a card and put some money it in to add to her account. I used the Princess Anya that I colored with Copics and put her on a 5 by 6.5 premade card. All the paper I used was from a page kit by the Paper Studio. The largest mat is 4.75 by 6.25. Then I cut the solid green paper to 4.5 by 6 and used a Friskars border punch along the bottom. I cut the mat PA is resting on to 3.75 by 4.25 with PA herself being a half inch smaller to give a quarter inch border. Since I didn't match the paper to the image before coloring there was no green in the image and I felt that it needed some. So, I used the green bling on her crown to draw the color into the image. I think it worked well. I also used a sticker from the page kit for the sentiment.

I usually don't decorate envelopes but I did on this one so it would serve as a pretty gift to hand to Annabelle's mommy. I just used the same paper as I used for the largest mat on the card and a demintional sticker from the page kit. It was so simple but I think it makes it so cute! I am still practicing with my Copics! Hope y'all aren't getting bored with all these posts. Hopefully I will be adding these images to some cards pretty soon! Here is Princess Anya from the Greeting Farm. I tried to get all of the colors in the photo but didn't do a great job. Here they are: BV00 for the ground shading, E000, 21, 11 for skin, RV00, 02, 04 for the dress, E31, 33, 35 for her hair, and Y11, 21, 15 for the wand and crown. Last week Ebay let everyone list auction style for free. So, I went through my stash and found some items that I had not used and probably wouldn't. My thought was to experiement a little, have some fun with it, you know? Well, thanks to six lovely ladies, everything but two items sold! Stamping with the Stamp-a-ma-jig

Happy Thursday all. Today I started on my Valentine's Tags for the Swap I am hosting on PaperPhenomenon.ning. I wanted to do something different, so I pulled out the Lacy Labels cartridge for my Expression (that I haven't used in forever!). I found the fifth cut, called Asian, was a nice rectangular shape, so I cut it at 4. That is just right for this Miko stamp I wanted to use. As you know, I have been practicing my coloring lately, so I wanted to use a colored image on my tags. I think this is a good stamp for Valentine's Day because of the heart in her hear. Plus, she is just so cute, but aren't they all? LOL. Once I had the paper cut in Asian and ready to stamp, I found it hard to center the image. Then I remembered, I have a STAMP-A-MA-JIG. That is another thing I don't use enough. I buy things and they sit....ok, ok, I digress! Using the Stamp-a-ma-jig was a cinch! Step one is done, all my images have been stamped and are ready to be colored. Hopefully I will have that done tomorrow. Thanks for following along!

Floral Best Wishes in Yellow

I made another card! LOL, I am on a roll! Not to call this a New Year's resolution but I do want to do more cardmaking. This one is also 4 by 5.5. I used the floral stamp by Cling just in black. Then I used the same black to ink all the edges, trying to tie it all together I guess. The sentiment stamp is from the same one I used yesterday-Vintage Labels by Stampin' Up! Oh, and I used the Cuttlebug again, but Swiss Dots this time. Hope you enjoy!

Sweet Girl for Valentine's Day

Happy New Year's! Yes, I know it is New Year's but I spent some time coloring for Valentine's Day, LOL. I haven't colored in a while and had 'the itch'. Same with making a card! I think this is a Magnolia Stamp, actually two because the chest she is sitting on was separate. That is why you can see the shadow behind her-because I popped her up on some foam. I used a variety of Copics on this one, so, here is the list. Hair: E 31 and 33. Skin: E 11 and 21. Rose R 29 and 35. Clothing R 20 and 22. I used C1 around the image to dull down the white of the paper. I used all of the same colors on the chest as well. The card is 4 by 5.5. I took a 1/4 of an inch off of the red mat and used tuxedo black in to stamp some hearts on it. Then I took another 1/4 of an inch off of the pink mat, corner rounded it and embossed it with the Floral Fantasy folder. The sentiment was stamped in tuxedo black with the Vintage Labels set from Stampin' UP! Inside, I used another stamp...

Timmy Elements for my Christmas Tag

Boy am I on a roll...two posts in one day...wow! LOL...I continiued working on the elements I want to use for my Christmas Tag...and they are all by TH! I used the same Tag die to cut the circles to go around the top hole and Stickled them Xmas Red. I used the Mover and Shapers 25 and cut green cardstock then Stickled them Green. I used the Reindeer Mover and Shapers to cut Kraft cardstock, inked the edges with Vintage Photo and then used my finger to rub on some gold Stickles. Now, everything is drying. Look for more tomorrow...

Starting My Christmas Tags

Hello out there! I finally started my Christmas Tags for the swap I am hosting on PP. I have not had a creative bone in my body for a while now and I am wondering if this whole scrapbooking thing is going to stick. I find myself looking for other things to do instead of scrapbooking when, not long ago, it was the other way around completely. SIGH! I do fullfill my obligations though, and thus I am pushing through these tags. I started with the TH tag die and cut them in medium weight chipboard. I then glued down a dictionary page and glimmer misted it with Santa Baby. They are drying now, pressed in a book so they go back flat. I will share more as I come up with what my next step will be. Hey all. Have I been a bad blogger lately or what? I've been bad at crafting too. First my computer went down, then blah blah blah. Life has just been too busy! I hope to have some more projects coming up very soon though. For now I have to concentrate on my tags for my swap on PaperPhenomenon.ning. Two lovely ladies joined this month and even though the deadline isn't until the 25th I got both packages in the mail today! I am going to be the one holding things up this month! SHEESH! Halloween Tag Swap on PaperPhenomenon.ning

Here is the tag I made for the swap I hosted on PaperPhenomenon.ning. I used a stamp from Recollections and colored her with Prismas. You can get all the details about it on the previous post. I then cut my tag to a size 8, layered on some black cardstock and K&Company designer paper. On the bottom part of the tag, I stamped the sentiment with VersaMark and emblossed it with silver Zing. I used lavendar Stickles around the image and then a little purple bling to her hat band. I then added the black and green roses (from Recollections as well) and that was it! I think it turned out pretty cute. A little different this time because I didn't put fibers on top but y'all know I like to try different things now and then! Purple Prisma Witch

I finally started the tags I am going to make for my Halloween Tag Swap on PaperPhenomenon.ning. I chose to use this cute image by Recollections. Isn't she adorable? I would have loved to use Copics on this but I don't have enough colors yet. I just used E51 for her face and hands. I used Prisma color pencils on the rest, as follows: Dress: Violet, Parma Violet and Lilac; Pumpkin: Burnt Ocre and Goldenrod and Spring Green for the hat ribbon, belt and hose. After I colored it up, I used a stump and thinner to smooth and blend. I love the effect it gave. I really haven't decided yet, but I think I am going to fussy cut them before putting them on the tag. I really hate to fussy cut but I love the look it gives. Hopefully tomorrow I will get some more done and update you as I build this tag or should I say tags...good evening to you all!

Altered Frame

If you haven't heard there is a new Ning called Creative Soup for the Soul. There are right at 30 different groups there that you can join...everything from cooking, reading, scrapbooking....just about every hobby you can think of. I have been 'playing' along with some of the challenges there and this frame is for one of them. The only requirement was to alter something out of wood. This frame cost me a whopping .97 cents at Walmart! LOL..I sealed it with gesso, coated it with crackle medium and then painted it pink. All the embellishments are from Recollections. I altered the trim along the bottom with all the roses. It was a 12 inch strip with the flowers spaced out, so, I just twisted the flowers off and hot glued them closer together. I think it turned out pretty cute...Just now, what to do with it? LOL.

Miko in Purple and Yellow

Don't you just love The Greeting Farm stamps? I have fallen for them! This is Miko...so cute! I colored her hair (E31, 33 and 35), skin (E000, 11 and 21), eyes (B14), lace around the purple heart (Y11) and gave her some eyeshadow (BV02). Her dress, bow, and the heart are paper pieced. Oh, all the designer papers are from Prima, the Sweet Fairy collection. I used two different shades of purple cardstock to make the card, do the MS border punch and the Stampin' Up punch. The sentiment is from SU! too. The roses and bling are from Recollections. I used hot glue to adhere them. I am entering this into two challenges. One is the ColorMeCopic Challenge that is going on our Facebook page and the other is a card challenge on CreativeSoupfortheSoul.ning. I hope you all like it. Let me know what you think!

File Folder Minis

Happy Tuesday! Now that Tuesday is my Saturday, you will probably being more posts in the middle of the week than the weekends. My work schedule is CrAzY NOW! Ack! But, it is play time right now! LOL...Pictured above are two minis I made using file folders. One is Halloween themed using Tim Coffey paper and the other is Nature themed using DCWV paper. You can get the tutorial on SplitcoastStampers.com. They were so easy and fun to make. I made a video so you can see the insides, the tags and how I did the ribbon to hold them closed. Hope you like it!

My new "M"

Happy Tuesday all. Did you enjoy the long weekend? I did! I finally broke down and made a Halloween M for the start of my videos. I used Tim Coffey paper, the Sizzix Ghost die, the Sizzix Haunted House die and Alphalicious cart for the letters at 2 inches. The "M" itself is a chipboard letter from Hobby Lobby. I floated the letters on a piece of acetate. The only thing I did to the ghosts were paint them white with acrylic paint and back the eyes with black cardstock. The house is another story. I cut it out of heavy chipboard painted it black then put on a coat of crackle medium. After that I painted it again with a cream color. I backed it with yellow and black cardstock for the door and windows. I added some silver Stickles to the web on the side. The die comes with a little bat as well, do you see him? He is just above the large window on the 'first floor'. I covered him with lavendar Stickles but he is so shiny you can hardly tell how dark the color is! I hope you like it. You should be seeing it soon on my vids!

My Favorite Things (MFTWSC35)

Happy Saturday...night again! Yep, that is right, we were having the garage sale again today. It was crazy! My aunt and uncle got rid of a lot of stuff! AND, I sold 3 mini albums and a lot of jewelry I made. Not a bad haul at all for just the box of stuff I took. Anyway....this is my card for today. It is from My Favorite Things. You see, Arlene (mybutterflykisses12) posted a video and yep, here I go with another challenge blog, LOL! This one is a little different than the ones I am used to because you don't post to the blog, you post your card to Splitcoast Stampers. This is my first time, so I hope I get it right! This is an A2 (4.25 by 5.5) but I cut it portrait so it opens from the bottom not the side. I cut the beige cardstock at 4 1/8 by 5 3/8 and then distressed it with scissors and inked it with Stampin' Up! Chocolate Chip Ink. As a matter of fact, that was the only color ink I used. Both of the mats are designer paper by Tim Coffey, oh, and the punched flower too! The mats are 2.5 by 4 and 1.5 by 2 1/8. The stamps are by Tim Holtz and they are on beige cardstock that is 2 by 3 1/8 and 1 3/8 by 1 15/16. I know, how technical can I get, sheesh! LOL...The strips are .5 thick and I inked them too (I inked everything!) and then just laid them and trimmed them up. Oh, and I almost forgot the tab. It is from the Stampin' Up! Tab punch. I just lined it up on the edge of the paper and punched a half of it so there would be no fold. Well, I think that is all. I hope you like it!

8 by 8 Mini Album for my Aunt

Happy Friday all....Friday night that is. What a day! My aunt and uncle (not the aunt I made this mini for) are moving and had a huge garage sale this morning. I was there at 7 and we worked our booties off! What a day. So, this is a short post...just to share a link to a video I uploaded. Another of my aunts mentioned wanting a small album of one set of her grandchildren, so I snuck around, got some pictures and made one for her. It is pretty simple but she loved it! Here is the link. Now...off to bed I go....gotta be back for round two at 7 in the morning. I am a selling machine! LOL!

Paper Playtime #54

Yesterday I found a new challenge blog called Paper Playtime. It looks pretty cool so I decided to play along. Their requirement all the time is to have one stamped image (digi or reg) on your card. Their theme this week is VACATION. So, I made this card loosely based on the Mojo card (5.25 square) I did yesterday. I found the designer paper (striped) in my stash and pulled the blue and tan from it. Both panels on front measure 2.25 by 3.25 (then add .5 inch to the kraft card stock for the matting). The compass panel really looks like designer paper but I made it myself with a little stamp from Inkadinkadoo (the same set that had the palm trees I used). I just stamped it randomly over the paper. I then stamped the palm trees and colored the sun with Y11 and Y15. The starkness of the white paper needed to be toned down so I used Blue Skies and Sand Glimmer mist. I sprayed the blue but used a paint brush for the Sand. I set them all with my heat tool the started layering everything. I added the blue bling for that finishing touch. I think it would be a great card to mail to someone while you are away....like on a cruise, LOL. Hope you like it!

Mojo Monday 206

Since it's the last week of the month, Mojo focuses on non-traditional sized cards, so give us a Round or Square option for the design. I used this Paper Studio paper to make a 5.25 square card. This has to be the fastest card I ever made! I guess I could get more technical with it, but I think this one turned out pretty cute. AND, it can actually be mailed because I didn't weigh it down with a bunch of stuff. The only embellishments are the three flat back pearls on the top right hand side. They kinda hide in the patterned paper but they are there! Thanks for looking!

Happy Sunday all! Dispite all of the news coverage of Irene I've been watching I did manage to get a card made today. This is for the Sketch Saturday Challenge 170. It seems that the only time I make a square card is when I do a SS because of their designs. I think this turned out super cute. The designer paper is from Tim Coffey and the stamp is from Stampendous. I didn't have the Copic colors I needed to match the paper so I turned to my Prisma color pencils for this one. The sleeve and the pants are paper pieced, again, for the color. I added the brads by cutting off the prongs and using Glossy Accents to adhere them down because of weight. All in all, not bad, eh?

What's Brewing-Mojo 205

Happy Saturday. I hope you are all well. I've been up most of the morning going from my craft room to the TV, watching the coverage of Hurricane Irene. It is so amazing how something we rely on for life can destroy it as well. I am continuing to pray for everyone in it's path. Ugh! I just can't dwell in it too much or it will get to me! On to the project! Yes, ha, another Halloween card! This one is using the sketch from MoJo Monday (#205). It was such fun to put together. The cauldron was cut from Oct 31st at 3 inches. I used lime green and lavender Stickles to highlight it. The lime green mat is 2.75 by 3.25 and the black mat just adds .5 inch to get the boarder. The designer paper is 3 by 4, the orange strip is 1 5/8 by 4 and the purple is 1 by 3.75. I have a round carrier with about 10/12 pairs of pinking scissors in it that I very rarely use so I was glad to use them for this card. It reminded me that I need to use them more often! Then I just used a black fine point Sharpie to add the faux stitching. Inside (not pictured) I added the sentiment "What's Brewing" from the same stamp set I've been using for ever, LOL. Leaves and Sushi?

I know..what a combo! But I wanted to try this little sushi piece I found over PaperPastel's YT channel. I still have to paint the face on, but....um, I really need practice on that part! The leaves I made from a mold I found at Hobby Lobby. It is made of plastic and it doesn't seem to work to well once the clay gets soft. It is almost like you need to leave the clay in for it to stiffen by getting 'cold' again. Any words of advice?

I think I have had my little clay fun need fullfilled for a while so I am going to try to get back to paper, LOL. I think I just heard a big sign of releif from all of you! It is fun trying different mediums and projects. It isn't over though....I bet there will be more clay in my future!

I know...y'all gotta be getting bored with the clay but I can't help it! LOL...only a few more I promise. I tried toast today with a pat of butter shaped like a heart. Not too bad. You can tell by the eye pin sticking out that it is small, about an inch or so. I do love playing with the clay, kneeding it and shaping it. It is good for stress LOL! I still don't get why everything is food??

Okay, that is kind of an inside joke...but it fits with my piece today. LEMON PIE! This one was pretty easy! I found a variation of it on Toni Eddison's YT channel. She did the topping different though. One lesson I am learning for sure is that the surface you are working on must be CLEAN. This clay picks up everything, sheesh. You think you have a good piece and then BAM! there is dirt, or a smug or even another color of clay on it.

I got to say I am stuck on trying different polymer clay charms right now...don't know why, I just am. I am finding my inner sculptress, LMBO! Anyway, today I tried my hand at what I am calling a mocha cupcake. This was little harder because I twisted three colors to make the swirl on top and my hands are not used to such small work. In the picture this looks big right? It actually stand .75 of an inch tall. When you twist the colors it wants to get small and break if you are not careful. Definately a new venture for me but like with everything else, practice makes perfect. Sorry for the shadow...I took this picture when the little was bad.

So, like I said I have been watching videos about Polymer Clay and I just had to try my hand at some more. Yes, I gave up on the pumpkin faces for now, LOL. What gets me is that just about all of these charms I've been seeing are food. What is up with that??? I don't know much about clay, just starting, but I got to say that is what of my first questions....why always food? Wild! At any rate, here is my take on the milkshake charm I saw. DoggieStein Halloween Card

Happy Sunday all! Instead of starting off with a picture today of a finished product, I'd thought I would do a tutorial of sorts. Or, really just take you through my process because this card had so many elements! See, it all started when I got an invite on Facebook by Scraps2Treasure that she was hosting an ineractive card blog hop. I hopped along for a while, saving some pages along the way, until I hit Cricut Craftin Grammy's blog. Her interactive card is called a Twisted Easel card and her tutorial is way better than mine, so check it out! She even does double and triple twist cards. I just had to make one but my measurements are a little different though...I added .5 inch to my base. And, I used the sketch from Sketch Saturday #169. Ok, ready? Here we go....

For my card base, I used a piece of black cardstock cut to 5.25 by 10.5. Then I used my MS Scoreboard to score at 5.25. Then I scored from the top right hand corner down to the score mark I had made at the half way point. This forms the triangle to adhere your card front too.

This is my card front, yep, Halloween again! And Tim Coffey again too! LOL...I can't help it! The black cardstock was cut to 5.25 square and the designer paper to 5 inch square.

This panel was made by using a piece of black cardstock cut to 3.25 by 4 then I took a half inch off for more Tim Coffey designer paper.

This panel is 2.75 by 3.5 with the black cardstock being a half inch bigger to create the border. I made this myself by stamping Eeek! over and over on lime green textured cardstock!

Next, the sketch called for a ribbon or border of some kind do go along the bottom. I tell you, I could find nothing in my stash! So, I cut these three strips at 5 by .5 from my scraps to creat it.

Now for the main focus of the card-DOGGIESTEIN!! This was stamp I had in my stash from last year. I do believe it is from Inkadinkadoo. I stamped him on a piece of white cardstock that messured 2 by 2.5. I used several Copics on him...E00 and E21 for the body, E71 for the collar, G85 and G82 for the mask and grass, Y11 and Y15 for the glow around him and BV00 for the bone. Also, on the grass, I used a fine point Sharpie to put in some 'blades'. I was limited on my color choices as my Copic collection still needs to grow! I would have liked to have a closer shad of the yellows especially but I think I made it work with what I had.

This is the sentiment for the inside. See, with a Twisted Easel card there needs to be an element on the inside to hold the card front up like with a regular Easel card. So, I stamp this from the same set on a piece of white cardstock that messured 1.5 by 4. I then used Y11 to do some shading around and inked it black as well. Then I added a half inch for the lime cardstock and then again for the black. I attached for foam dots (one on each corner) to get it ready to go in.

Last but not least I cut this purple piece of textured cardstock at 5 inches square to go in the inside for that finished look. Now, for the grand reveal! Finally, eh? LOL

As if I don't have enough stuff in my craft room, here I go adding another medium...LOL. I have been watching some YT vids of people doing polymer clay charms and yep, just had to try it! I definately have some practicing to do. I think I have the shape down and I baked them with ease...but those faces need some help, LOL! Polymer Clay is way fun to play with and I know with a little practice I will get it down pat. I will let you all know how it turns out....LOL!

Papa's Birthday Card

TGIF! This is the card I made for my Papa's 86th birthday! Can you believe it? 86! I only hope I do as well as he has. He is visiting us from Valdosta so I got to hand deliver it and get a big hug! I almost didn't give it to him because I am no good at making cards for guys but I knew that if I drew a line on a piece of paper, Papa would love it! LOL....that is Papa for ya! I used the sketch from Sketch Saturday for the design and starting thinking, what to do, what to do...Then I saw that the challenge from Fantabulous Cricut was "Sweet Treats". BING! That got me going. So, I pulled out my Sweet Treats Cartridge and cut the cupcake at 2.5 inches. In my effort to make it 'manly' I stuck with brown and blue, using some Tim Holtz designer paper for the backgrounds and cupcake liner. The card base, the punched trim and the 1 inch circle are all kraft cardstock. The little Happy Birthday stamp is from Stampin' Up! Then I just had to, had to using some Stickles, but I stuck with True Blue, LOL! I even added some little Stickle dots to the bottom right hand corner to even it out. I know Papa loved it. He had a big smile on his face when he opened it up!! Thanks for following. I hope your Friday goes by fast so the weekend can begin!

A Scare/Crow Card!

Okay, back to HALLOWEEN! I thought you needed a little break yesterday, LOL! Today I got out my leftover Halloween paper from last year to add some more pizazz...yeah, I know, I am a HOARDER! There, I said it! This card is another A2 and the black mat is cut at 4 by 5.25. The designer paper is from the Tim Coffey K&Company stack and I cut it at 3.75 by 5 then used my Stampin' Up! Ticket punch on the corners. Before I adhered it down I added the ribbon with a faux knot in it to dress it up a bit. The cute crow stamp is from Inkadinkadoo and I used BV02, BV04 and Y11 Copics to add some color to him. I stamped him on a piece of white card stock cut to 2.25 by 2.5 and ticket punched the corners there too. The black mat is just a .5 inch larger to give the border. Now that I am looking at this I remember that I was going to add some rhinestones to the corners, but I forgot, shesh! I would forget my head if it wasn't attached these days....Anyway, the sentiment is from the same Halloween Sentiments set I used the other day (read:can't remember who made them, sorry!)

Spooky Tree Card

Ok, this is why I warned you yesterday...I knew I could make just one. I saw this cute (but spooky) tree on the Paper Doll Dress Up cartridge when I was cutting out the bats and I knew it needed to go on a card too. I guess I need to go back to my posts last year and see what I did to I don't end up copying myself, LOL! Until then though, I gotta play! This is another size A2. I keep it simple again, only adding the color orange this time. The 'tree' mats are as follows...black (3.5 by 4), white (3.25 by 3.37) and the orange (3 by 3.5) which is Swiss Dotted (I didn't forget this time!). The sentimenet is from an Inkadinkadoo set I got last year and is stamped on a 3.5 by 1 inch piece of white cardstock. The black mat behind it is 3.75 by 1.25. After I did that I just knew it needed something else and that is when I added the little bat. Again, I think I need a new white gel pen....ugh! Thanks for looking. My first Halloween Card for this year!

I know....I know...Halloween already? School is barely back in session and here I go. I just can't help it! Halloween is just about my favorite holiday (only behind Christmas by a smudge!). I can feel the change in the air and I just had to make this little card! Before I hit all the purples, greens, oranges, etc, I wanted to do a black and white one...just black and white! It is A2 (4.25 by 5.5) and really very simple. I cut the black mat at 3.75 by 5 and the white mat at 3.5 by 4.75. In retrospect, I would have textured (probably Swiss Dotted) the white mat but I didn't think of it in time. I cut the circle from the Mini Monogram Cartridge at 1.5 and the black scalloped circle from the same cartridge at 1.75. The stamp came from a Halloween Sentiment stamp set I have that of course I can't remember who made! The bats came from the Paper Doll Dress up Cartridge and I cut them at 1 inch at 1.5. I used my white gel pen to doodle on their faces and highlights but it isn't working too well for me. I think it is time to buy a new one! Thanks for looking! I hope you like my card. I think I have a couple of these up my sleeve so you might be seeing several coming up!

I haven't been feeling well and I was just trying to get my stuff done so I could post this. Lesson learned! Make sure the picture turns out! SHEESH! I got all the items together that I wanted to send to what I have started calling "My PIF Ladies". They are getting an altered dress form, some stamped images and set of jewelry (bracelet and earrings). I also made them each a thank you card with Mermaid Anya on it. Hey all! Today I have been coloring! Can you tell? LOL. I just love The Greeting Farm Stamps! AND ofcourse, my collection seems to be growing. Since it is still technically summer, I thought I would use Mermaid Anya on the thank you cards I am sending to my Pay It Forward ladies. I used a bunch of colors here, so bare with me! For the skin I used: E000, E11 and E21. For the hair I used: E31, E33, and E35. For the Tail I used: G28, BG15 and B14. For the Bathing Suit I used: RV00, RV02 and RV04. I think she turned out pretty cute! I colored five of them all the same, now for the fussy cutting.....NOT my favorite part, LOL!

Tim Holtz Dress Form

Hey all! Here is one of the items I made to send out to the ladies that signed up for my Pay It Forward. I used medium weight chipboard and cut out two pieces. The first piece I painted with gold metalic paint by Folk Art. Then I cut a strip of pink organza and layered it to make the skirt. I used a piece of lace from my stash to accent it. I don't know if you can tell but there is a line of hearts in the lace. The little necklace I made myself by stringing some seed beads on 6lb Fireline. The sticker was from my stash and for the life of me I can't remember who it is by. The sticker is the initial of the lady that it is going to-I had two K's, a D and a L. The seconde piece of chipboard was intended just to cover the ugly of the back of the piece. You know, the hot glue, etc. When I went to glue it on, I realized that if I just glued the top half the bottom acted as a stand. So, the ladies will be able to stand there personalized dress form up on their desk if they wish! I think they turned out pretty cute, eh? Let me know your thoughts...

I have been telling her that I was learning to color with Copic markers, so her card just had to have some coloring on it. I used the Elena stamp from The Greeting Farm and colored up every bit of her. For the hair I used: E31, E33, E35 and E25. For her skin I used: E00, E11 and E21. Father's Day and Graduation Tag/ATC Swap on Paper Phenomenon

Graduation Tag

Hats off for Wednesday! LOL, no...Hats off for Graduation! This is the tag I made for the second theme of the tag swap I hosted this month on PP. This cute tag was so simple to make. I used some star paper from my stash (I think it is The Paper Studio) for the background. The letters are from the Alphalicious cartridge and the Cap is from Locker Talk. I used some Diamond Stickles on the tassle and a white gel pen to do some faux stitching. For the top, I spritz some seam binding with water, crinkled it and let it dry, then used the Tiny Attatcher to staple it on...get it, staple, school? Ha ha ha...The video of all of the tags I received for the swap will be up tomorrow...See ya then!

Father's Day ATC

Today is ATC Day! Here is a picture of the ATC I created for the swap I am hosting on PP (PaperPhenomenon.ning.com). I started with a piece of medium weight chipboard cut to ATC size-2.5 by 3.5. I stamped a wood grain right on to the unfinished chipboard. You can not see that in this picture so you will have to watch the video (which I will post later on this week-just stay tuned). Then I created a pocket by using the rectangular book plate from the TH tag die cut out of chipboard and accented with black ink. I used a tiny alphabet stamp set I got in the dollar bin at M's to stamp dad on some kraft card stock and put it behind the book plate. I attached the book plate with some tiny silver brads. For the insert, I just cut some kraft card stock and folded it to resemble a matchbook. The image on front was downloaded from the internet. Thanks for following along...more to come...

Father's Day Tag

Hey all....another Monday and I it is SWAP TIME!!!! This month the swaps I hosted on PaperPhenomenon.ning.com had TWO themes. The first one was Father's Day and the other Graduation. This is the tag I made for the Father's Day group. I started by cutting some medium weight chipboard with the TH Tag die. Then I painted it black with acrylic paint. After that dried, I put on a coat of crackle medium. When that dried, I added some cream acrylic paint and watched it crackle on up. This was the first time I used crackle medium so I thought it was way cool! Then I sealed it with varnish. Finally, the base was finished. I cut a piece of burlap and Glimmer Misted it with Sand. The burlap the tag is laying on is the same burlap that is on the tag so you can see how the Sand Mist darkened it. I used a Hero Arts Alphabet stamp set to stamp DAD on some kraft card stock and cut it with some edging scissors. I set the eyelet in the burlap but the burlap was so thin that I ended up having to hot glue it. I ran some TH ball chain through it so it is a tag on a tag, LOL! Then I just added the buttons-doubling up the big ones on the bottom left hand corner which also has a string of burlap tied through it. There will be a video later this week showing all the tags I got in the swap...so stay tuned! I hope the ladies in the swap like it!

Last night I was scanning YouTube and came across an awesome video showing how to make butterflies from flowers. Fiona (Jennings644) walks you through it step by step. Well, I didn't have all the right stuff but I improvised and came up with my own. I love how they turned out. I made a video but here are some stills so you can see the details better. My Cousin's Birthday Mini

Here is a mini I did for my cousin's birthday. She had her birthday quite some time ago and I am just now getting it done, LOL. I'm sure y'all have done that before though, right, right? Sketch Saturday Week 155

Here is my entry for Sketch Saturday this week. I used white cardstock to make a 5 by 5 card. Then cut some kraft cardstock 4.5 square to have a quarter inch border all the way around. I used some 'quilty' looking pattern paper (I got it in a RAK so I don't know who made it) that I cut to 4 by 4 for the final mat. I used some coordinating paper to do the strip across the front with more kraft cardstock edged with a MS punch instead of a ribbon to highlight the design. Then I cut craft cardstock with the Mini Monograms cartridge at 3.5 to get the scalloped circle and 3 to get the white circle. The hummingbird stamp is from Stampin' Up! and I colored it with Prismas. I learned recently that if you use a stump and thinner with the Prismas you can blend your colors together, so I just had to try it! I think it came out so pretty. For the flowers, I painted IAmRoses mulberry flowers with Baby Blue and Mint Green Liquid Pearls and put a half back pearl in the middle. I think they match wonderfully! Thanks for looking!

At first the Metal ATC swap was being hosted by Karla but then Angee took over to help Karla out. So, now Angee is our hostess. Whomoever it is, I always send a card with my swap for the hostess just to let her know that I appreciate her work. In most cases I also send an extra of what has been mde for her to have for herself. Such is the case here. I sent an extra ATC and here is the card I sent...

I used Kraft cardstock for the base. Then I cut some pink cardstock and distressed the edges with the other Timmy Tool...LOL. I then used the same stamp I had used on the ATC to create the music note background on white cardstock. I used chipboard to cut the cage, bird and wing. The cage was painted with the gold dauber and the bird and wing with Petal Pink Liquid Pearls. I ran some lace along the bottom and used the same lace at the top to girl it up a bit. I used the black brad to match the ATC again...I think it matches the ATC well, even though there is no metal here, like a coordinating set. Thanks for following me along on this project. Metal ATC-Finished!

Happy Saturday! Now that Blogger seems to have worked out their issues, I can post my finished ATC. These are already in the mail with a card I made for the hostess (I will share that in the next post). I really like how all the layers came together. I wanted to note that I used Glossy Accents to layer the acetate flower and bird and used hot glue to layer the lace flower and brad. Once they were done, it was holding well, so I don't think there will be any issues with trying to glue to foil. So, that is my finished ATC. Please let me know what you all think, k?

Artsy Addicts Metal ATC Part Three

I finally decided what I am going to use for the center of my flowers. I wanted to keep going with the use of metal, so I thought these brads would be a nice touch. The only problem was that I only had three of each kind, so there will be some differences. If you look closely in the picture you can see that one is faceted and the other a smooth dome. I didn't want to chance the prongs showing through the lace flowers, so I just clipped them off with some wire cutters. I left a little bit though so I had something to bend back and keep the smooth surface of the sides. That is the last element ready so then it was time to start assembling everything!

First, I wrapped the stamped foil around some chipboard I cut to ATC Size. I wasn't sure what would be a good adhesive to use but Scotch Quick Dry worked great! I then cut some more foil to cover the back. As you know, that is where most artists put their info, which was my plan, but how to include it on foil? Of all things, I tried a fine point Sharpie, and it worked, LOL!

Now I just got to put it all together and I'll be done!

Artsy Addicts Metal ATC Part Two

Happy Hump Day! We are almost there....well, half way at least. I tell ya, more and more my weeks are just time spent trying to get to the weekend, LOL! I love my crafty time and I made some room in my schedule today (despite the demands of life) to get some in. Today I kept playing with acetate and alcohol inks, well, mixative. I cut just the birds from the Caged Bird die from Tim Holtz and inked them up. My idea to do this is to kinda sandwich the pink acetate flowers from yesterday in between the silver of the aluminum and birds...we will see if it works, eh?

Next, I went to work on some lace flowers. I made these by running a slip stich down the edge of a thin piece of lace and then stitching the edges together. These are the easiest flowers to make! I do NOT sew...AT ALL, but I can make these. So, if I can, you can too. If anyone would like a tutorial on how to do these I will gladly make one, but I do believe there are all ready plenty of tuts on YouTube you can search for. Now, I am off to do what I have to do (not stay here and do what I want to, LOL). Atleast I got two more elements ready to go.

Starting a New Project!

Happy Monday! I am finally getting started on an ATC Swap I signed up for with the Artsy Addicts on Facebook. Karlas001 (her YouTube name) is hosting. The rules are that you can not have any exposed paper and you must use metal somewhere. So, this is where I am starting. I stamped directly onto good ole Heavy Duty Reynolds Wrap with Staz On and it stayed on! I plan on wrapping my chipboard with this so 'no paper is exposed'.

I used the Tattered Florals Die to cut some acetate and then colored it with Pink Sherbert alcohol ink. I used the blender tool to dab up and down to give the texture. I am planning on using a brad in the middle to attach it. That will be more metal elements. That's all I have time for today. Stay tuned for more through the week...

My First Charm Bracelet

Remember that charm lottery I won a while back? I finally had the brilliant idea to try to make my own charm bracelet. I knew it couldn't be too hard if I was already beading for charms, so I gave it a try. Look what I cam up with! There were five charms in the lot that had the same 'sea' theme so I used them all and then added the blue beads from my stash. I LOVE IT!!!

My Info Tags for the Image Swap

Hey all! I hope you week is going by as smoothly as mine. I just can't wait for Saturday! Yahooo!! There is going to be an all day Ustream event with some of my favorite crafters. I thought for today I would share with you a new (to me) technique I tried on my info tags for Becca's Image swap. Every time you swap you should include all your info right? And usually I just handwrite it on the back of the item or print it from the computer, cut it down to size and glue it to the back. Since this was such an easy swap, I decided I needed to try something different with my info. I took some white cardstock and cut it using the Tim Holtz Ornamental die with the Mover and Shaper so I would get the Mini Ornamental die. Then I took some Regal Rose Stampin' Up! Ink and my "Timmy Tool" (what is that thing called anyway???) and blending the ink around the edges and into the middle. Then I took a "Sprinkle" stamp from SU! and stamped it randomly in Rose Red. My info (that was printed on the computer and cut down) was inked on the edges with Rose Red as well to give it a little border. I thought it turned out cute!

Hey all! I just thought I would share what images I am swapping in Becca's Image Swap on A Lil Scrap of Heaven (if you are not a member, sign up! There is a link on the right hand side of my blog!!!) The requirements are to stamp 3 different images with Memento Tuxedo Black in on a piece of 4 by 4 cardstock for each of the people in your group (I am in group 5). Well, you know how I like to send a little extra? Instead of doing 3 images for each, I did 7! LOL. These are the only Greeting Farm images I have so I included them all! So, I really hope my swap partners like their extras. By the way, if you are interested in doing a one on one swap with me, just drop me a line and we can work something out. Sketch Saturday 153

It has been forever since I did a challenge so I thought I would 'get back in the game'. Plus, I wanted to make a card for a swap hostess I am about to send my items too. So, here I got killing two birds with one stone....LOL....

I used the Sketch Satuday Week 153 for the design of this card. And believe it or not, it is all white cardstock. I used Regal Rose Stampin' Up! Ink and two SU! stamps to create the background and sentiment. Of course you recongize Princess Anya from The Greeting Farm. I colored her face with Copics but the rest is in Prisma color pencils (I don't have many Copics yet). I think it turned out pretty cute! I hope she likes it!

The Parody Video!

Hey all. I just uploaded a video on my YouTube channel entitled "The Parody Video". It seems that my cousin and uncle think it is hilarious the way I say, "This is Kim from MoeScrap" and the way I wave at the camera at the end of my videos. Soooo...they made a little video themselves! I thought it was so funny I just had to share it with all of you. Hey everyone! Happy Friday and...

Welcome to the 1st Annual Artsy Addicts Technique Blog Hop!!!

I hope you are all having a great time hoping around and learning some great techniques from the Artsy Addicts...what a great group of ladies, eh? If you are on the right trail, then you should have arrived from Heidi Bound's blog...and to keep on the right path, you will be headed to Chrys Kamp's blog (there will be a link below).

I am always looking for ways to make more use of my supplies-and to stretch my dollars. One way to do this it to make your own embellishments. Not just flowers and stick pins but charms, brads and 'buttons'.

I pulled out some polymer clay, eye pins, a stamp, some Cuttlebug folders and various inks....and got to work. I used the stamp (clock faces) to make the impression into the polymer clay, inserted the eye pin and baked the clay to make a charm. For the brad, I inserted the brad into the clay then stamped the imaged and baked it off. Then I thought about the Cuttlebug impression. So, I just pressed some clay in the folder (Swiss Dots and Fleur De Lis) and baked it. Then it was time to add some color! I wasn't sure what would adhere to the clay without rubbing off, so I tried Glimmer Mist (Sugar Plum Fairy), Liquid Pearls (Blue) and Alchol Ink Silver Mixative. THEY ALL WORKED! As you can see in the picture they added some great color that won't rub off. I also made an instructional video for you to watch and you can see it here. I hope you all like this technique! My ATC For the Mother's Day/Celebrate Womanhood ATC Swap on PP

Happy Wednesday all! We are almost there! YAHOO! I am getting excited because I got a fun weekend coming up...a blog hop and a visit from my cousin from San Antonio! Just gotta keep chugging along..ok, enough of that! Here is a picture of the ATC I made for the swap I am hosting on PaperPhenomenon.ning. I host a Tag and ATC Swap there every month (sign ups are from the 25 to the 1st) so come on over and join us! Back to the ATC: I made this by cutting medium weight chipboard to ATC size (2.5 by 3.5). Then on the raw chipboard, I stamped this image with VersaMark. I then covered it with clear embossing powder and heat set it. I put a small Prima rose in her hair to add a bit of color. I chose the white lace first to frame her but ran out (I made two in white and two in black) so I had to use the black lace as well. Let me know what you think....a bit elegant, no?

My Mother's Day/Celebrate Womanhood Tag Swap for PP

Happy Tuesday! Here is my tag for the swap I am hosting on PaperPhenomenon.ning this month. I started by running some medium weight chipboard through my Cuttlebug with the Tim Holtz tag die. I used a Hero Arts background stamp to get the clock pattern (straight on the chipboard) and then Glimmer Misted is with Sand. I then stamped the dress form on pink cardstock and fussy cut it. I found the quote online and used Word to print it the way I wanted it to look (and so it would fit!). The seam binding on top and the bloom trim (by Tim Holtz) was Glimmer Misted with Vintage Pink. I used a Tim Holtz garmet pin to hang the little Prima Rose to act like sort of a charm. This was my first time doing that and I think it turned out pretty cute! Then I added the bling to the stand of the dress form and viola! I certainly hope the ladies in the swap will like it. Please let me know what you think. I'd love to hear from you!

My Entry into Regina's Travelogue

Happy Monday! Pictured above is my entry into Regina's Travelogue for the Travelogue Group on YourPaperPantry. I used Graphic 45 for the background paper and downloaded the images you see by typing in Victorian Fashion on Google.com then selecting Images in the top left hand corner. I used a bling flourish, lollipop flowers and a brooch/button to embellish. The images in the pocket are interactive so I made a video. Also, pictured below is the sign in page she had us do. She included raw chipboard dress forms in the envelope and wanted us to 'dress' them. Mine is the third one. I painted it gold, put two layers of lace on it for the skirt, a pearl necklace and a tiny "K" sticker on it like a brooch. You can see it better in the video, so I hope you check it out. Color Me Copic Club Contest #1

Hey all! I am so excited today because I have been COLORING WITH COPICS!!! Yes, I finally took it on, I am going to learn how to use these things if it kills me, LOL! I joined the Color Me Copic Club that Carlene (Pinkscrapper99 on YouTube) set up. It is an awesome club and you should check it out, she has videos with the info you need. The instructor, Arlene (mybutterflykisses12) did a tutorial on how to color skin and this is our first contest-coloring skin! They even provided this awesome image from Amanda (Riki Yanki) for us to color. I used Copics (E000, E11, E21 and E00) to color the skin and R20 for the blush, lips and necklace. I used B14 for the surf board. That is basically all the colors I have so I switched to Prismas to color the rest of the image. I used an Inkadinkadoo stamp and Opaque Zing embossing powder to give the surf board a design. Thanks for looking! Let me know what you think!

Mini Notebook

Hey all. I saw this cute little project on BACraftyGirl's Youtube channel and just had to make it. It is a mini notebook and I made it with three sections, using two pieces of kraft cardstock to make dividers with pockets. I used Tim Coffey paper to cover it. I think it turned out really cute.
